Kasturba Hospital & Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) proudly announce the recent acquisition and installation of state-of-the-art medical equipment and facility upgrades across various departments. These developments mark a significant step forward in the institute’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to the community.

The inauguration functions, spread over three days, were attended by esteemed dignitaries including Shri Dhirubhai Mehta (President, Kasturba Health Society), Shri PL Tapadia (Vice-President, Kasturba Health Society), Dr BS Garg (Secretary, Kasturba Health Society), Dr AK Shukla (Dean, MGIMS), Dr Poonam Shivkumar (Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital), Dr Ramesh pandey (Deputy Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital), heads of departments, faculty, residents, nurses, and staff.

The Department of Orthopaedics and Physiotherapy underwent extensive renovations, resulting in a larger area and a more comfortable and modern healthcare environment for patients. Dr CM Badole (Head of Orthopaedics, MGIMS) expressed, "The facelift encompasses everything from consultation rooms and plaster rooms to patient rehabilitation and waiting areas in a more structured manner. This will enhance efficiency and ensure seamless patient flow, ultimately contributing to a more positive healthcare experience."

The Department of Dentistry reinforced its diagnostic capabilities with the acquisition and installation of an OPG X-ray machine. “This state-of-the-art equipment will facilitate more accurate assessments and treatment planning, ensuring optimal oral health outcomes for our patients. This will display all teeth on both jaws in a single film, including those that have not surfaced or erupted yet, such as wisdom teeth.”, said Dr P Sanghavi (Head of Dentistry, MGIMS)

The Department of Surgery installed an advanced Colonoscope and TURP Saline Cautery in the OT. Dr Dilip Gupta (Head of Surgery, MGIMS) commented, “This videoscope with cutting-edge technology will enhance our diagnostic and treatment capabilities, ensuring better outcomes for patients of all age groups requiring surgical interventions.”

In a similar vein, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBGY) recently acquired a high-end color Doppler ultrasound system. This advanced imaging technology will enable healthcare professionals to provide more personalized care to expectant mothers and women.

Responding to the demands of the community, the Multispecialty OPD at GMLF, Wardha, was resumed. Dr Poonam Varma informed, “The OPD will be functional from 5th April and shall offer consultations with specialists across various medical disciplines, ensuring holistic care for patients of Wardha.”

Shri Dhirubhai Mehta and Shri PL Tapadia reiterated the institute's commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery and improving patient outcomes. "We remain dedicated to providing compassionate care to our community," they emphasized.
